Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
My feelings for this book are very conflicted. Some parts I enjoyed very much but others such as part three and part eight were too lengthy. They had discussions essential to the story but that could be cut in half. Both religion and agriculture can only be talked about a limited number of times. This parts were monotonous and the story wouldn't be affected if they were removed. The story itself was quite entertaining and I was amazed at the similarities between the book and the last film adaptation. They truly did a great job. Now about Anna, I dislike her very much. I like her story and herself at the beginning but towards the end she showed many signs of a mental disorder and I think her fate was inevitable. All in all I enjoyed the book a lot although it took me ages to read it. Also, there is only so much I can take on the topic of agriculture.

Review: The Shining
The Shining by Stephen King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A great book. Although the first half was very slow I enjoyed very much the second half. The book gives you a great sense of unease and it keeps you in a state of suspense. The movie is just the tip of the iceberg. I particularly loved the part where it reveals who Tony is and I think Stephen King did a great job of painting the picture. All in all, 4.7/5 stars because it took me about 200 pages to really get into it.

Review: It's Kind of a Funny Story
It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
So right after I finished this book my thoughts aren't so coherent. I enjoyed the story very much and I was glad to see something so real portrayed so faithfully. It was a very easy read considering the difficult topics it talks about. Mostly, this book isn't about the characters as much as the lessons they teach you. It makes you stop, and think. Your life is yours to make what you want out of it.
