This book was great. As much as I liked it though, the first one was way better. The character development in this book was enormous. Todd and Viola changed and grew up in more than one way. Davy also changed, he was true to himself despite his need to please his father. Mayor Prentiss was something else altogether. A great antagonist that values knowledge and knows that to control it is to control others. The reason I didn't like this book as much is because it took me too many pages to really get into the story. It wasn't until the page 300 more or less that I really enjoyed reading it. I could tell I wasn't into the story because I kept putting off reading for other activities such as watching television. Nevertheless I liked the story and it looks like it will have an amazing conclusion.
