Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
THAT ENDING THOUGH. I can say that this book was an amazing conclusion to the trilogy. The characters developed beautifully and it was good to see them grow yet again. Also, knowing more about The Land was very enlightening because previous books told us nothing about them except for the thoughts The Clearing had about them. The dual POV'S instead of episodes made this story more enjoyable and dynamic. There is little you can say about the last book in a trilogy without spoilers so all I can really say is that I'm satisfied with the ending and it was a definite improvement from the secocnd book. The one thing I can't help but discuss is the Mayor. God, did I hate that man. He was manipulative and brilliant which is a great combination for a story's antagonist but bad news for its hero. I actually finished the book wanting more and with hope for the characters.
