A much better installment than City of Bones, City of Ashes leaves the world building behind and finally begins with the real story. I enjoyed this book much more than the first one and read it in a flash. Jace and Clary are amazing even though she annoys me occasionally. On the other side I love Izzy and Simon. Having read this book once before I got so many nodds to future story arcs that I had not noticed last time. This book was fast paced and very interesting. It gives a sense of just how big the Shadowhunter world is. Cassandra Clare has done a great job of setting the stage and the real play is about to begin
