Holy crap that was something. For me, this book was quite special. It's been a while since I read a book that made my heart turn to mush. I was shocked at the ending and have no patience waiting for Wayfarer. Nicholas is so sweet and Etta is kick ass considering her circumstances. I really liked this book and how it developed even if it took me some time to get into the story. One thing I would've found amazing was a more descriptive image of each era-appropriate clothing. Apart from that I loved the characters and found it amazing that Nicholas was dark-skinned, diversity is always a great thing to see in books.
